Tesla Extends Purchase Incentives in Norway with Up to NOK 50,000 Bonus on Model Y
Article Content
Tesla is maintaining its aggressive sales strategy in Norway by extending its Tesla Bonus and low-interest financing offers through the second quarter of 2026. The initiative targets selected Model 3 and Model Y variants, aiming to sustain the company’s dominance in the Norwegian electric vehicle (EV) market, where it currently leads sales charts.
The flagship Model Y Premium Long Range 4x4 variant remains the centerpiece of the campaign, offering buyers NOK 50,000 in cash incentives and 0.00% interest over three years. With a starting monthly payment of NOK 4,559 (including winter tires), a NOK 2,500 down payment, and a 10-year repayment term, the financial terms are among the most favorable in the Norwegian EV market. The model continues to top monthly sales, with 1,069 units registered in March 2026, bringing its first-quarter total to 1,131 units—far ahead of competitors like the Toyota BZ4X (454 units) and Volvo EX40 (373 units).
Across all brands, 7,484 new EVs were registered in March 2026, with 10,473 units sold in Q1 2026. The Tesla Model Y remains the overall best-selling EV in Norway, with 95,252 units sold to date, followed by the Nissan Leaf (81,249 units) and Tesla Model 3 (55,234 units).
Breakdown of Tesla’s Q2 2026 Incentives
Tesla’s latest campaign applies to multiple Model 3 and Model Y configurations, with varying levels of financial incentives and interest rates. Below is a summary of available offers:
- Model Y Premium Long Range 4x4: NOK 50,000 bonus, 0.00% interest, estimated delivery May–June 2026
- Model Y Premium Long Range (RWD): NOK 45,000 bonus, 0.00% interest, estimated delivery May–June 2026
- Model Y Long Range (RWD): NOK 25,000 bonus, 0.00% interest, estimated delivery June 2026
- Model 3 Premium Long Range (RWD): NOK 30,000 bonus, 1.99% interest, estimated delivery May–June 2026
- Model 3 Long Range (RWD): NOK 20,000 bonus, 1.99% interest, estimated delivery June 2026
- Model 3 variants (Performance): No bonus or special financing, estimated delivery April–June 2026
The Model Y Premium Long Range 4x4 stands out as the most financially attractive option, combining the highest bonus with zero interest. This marks the third time Tesla has launched such a campaign in Norway within a short period, reinforcing its market leadership and competitive pressure on rivals like Nissan, whose Leaf starts at NOK 373,300—NOK 16,690 cheaper than the base Model Y, but without comparable incentives.
Analysts suggest Tesla’s continued aggressive pricing and financing terms are designed not only to drive sales volume but also to lock in long-term customer loyalty in Norway, a market often seen as a bellwether for global EV adoption.
