Tesla will discontinue the Model S and Model X with the introduction of the Signature Series, a limited-edition version available only in Garnet Red with gold accents. Each vehicle features a uniquely numbered interior and a global production cap of just 350 units. The move marks the end of an era for the two models, which have been mainstays in Tesla’s lineup since their debut.
Company CEO Elon Musk confirmed the decision in a statement, emphasizing the exclusivity of the Signature Series. "This is the final chapter for the Model S and Model X in their current form," Musk said. "We wanted to give our most dedicated customers something truly special before we transition to the next generation."
The Signature Series includes upgrades such as premium interior materials, enhanced sound insulation, and a suite of advanced driver-assistance features. Tesla has not disclosed pricing for the limited run but indicated it will be significantly higher than standard versions. Deliveries are expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026.
Industry analysts note that Tesla is shifting focus toward more affordable models, including the upcoming Model 2. The Signature Series may serve as a farewell gesture to long-time supporters of the Model S and Model X, which have been pivotal in establishing Tesla’s luxury segment.
