Legal, compliance and procurement teams spend too much time reviewing contracts. Important details are often hidden in long, unstructured documents. As the number of contracts grows, locating specific clauses and extracting key terms becomes harder to manage manually.
PwC and AWS have built an AI-driven tool to automate this process. The system uses machine learning models to scan and analyze contracts at scale. It identifies and extracts key clauses such as termination terms, liability limits and payment conditions without requiring manual review.
The solution runs on Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure. It leverages AWS’s cloud computing power to process large volumes of documents quickly. PwC contributed its legal and industry expertise to train the models on real contract data.
Yash Munsadwala, Adam Hood, Justin Guse and Hector Hernandez from PwC co-authored the project. They say the tool reduces review time by up to 70 percent in pilot tests. Legal teams can now focus on higher-value tasks instead of repetitive document checks.
The AI system is designed for enterprises with high contract volumes. It supports industries like finance, healthcare and manufacturing where regulatory compliance is critical. The tool is available as a managed service through AWS.
