Norway and Ukraine have agreed to a new defense cooperation agreement. The deal includes production of Ukrainian drones in Norway. This was announced by Norway’s Ministry of Defense on Wednesday.
Under the agreement, Ukrainian drone manufacturers will set up production lines in Norway. The first contracts involve FPV drones and reconnaissance models. Norwegian authorities will provide regulatory support for the initiative.
The collaboration aims to strengthen Ukraine’s defense capabilities amid ongoing conflict. Norway will also supply additional military equipment as part of the deal. Ukrainian officials emphasized the importance of joint production for long-term security.
Both countries have worked closely since Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022. Norway has already donated over 2 billion NOK in military aid to Ukraine. The new drone initiative marks a deeper industrial partnership.
The first Ukrainian-made drones are expected to enter service in Norway by early 2025. Military analysts see this as a step toward broader European defense integration.
