Malta’s Minister for the Economy, Enterprise and Strategic Projects Silvio Schembri will deliver the opening keynote at the EU-Startups Summit 2026 in Valletta on June 4. The two-day conference will focus on startup growth, investment trends, and policy changes shaping Europe’s entrepreneurial future.
Schembri’s address comes as Malta finalizes new tax incentives for early-stage companies and prepares to host the summit at the Mater Dei Hospital’s conference center. Organizers confirmed the schedule on April 15, noting that over 1,200 founders, investors, and policymakers have registered so far.
The summit’s agenda includes panels on AI regulation, cross-border funding, and digital infrastructure. A separate session will examine how Malta’s Startup Residence Programme compares with similar schemes in Portugal and Estonia. Registration remains open until May 20.
This year’s event follows the 2024 edition, which attracted 950 participants and led to 47 investment agreements worth €23 million. The 2026 edition expands to three tracks to accommodate demand.
Schembri will be available for press questions after his speech. The full program will be published on the summit’s official website next week.
