San Francisco — Meta announced on Tuesday a shift in its cross-app account management system. The Accounts Center will be renamed Meta Account, a change designed to simplify how users control settings across the company’s apps and devices.
The update means users will access their preferences through a single interface instead of juggling separate menus in apps like Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger. Meta said the move follows feedback from users who found the current system fragmented. The change will roll out gradually starting next month.
Meta Account will group core settings such as privacy controls, ad preferences, and security features in one place. The company stated this reduces the steps needed to adjust account details on any device. Users will still sign in to individual apps as usual, but settings changes will sync automatically.
The transition does not affect login methods or existing data. Meta will provide in-app notifications and emails to guide users through the change. Support documents will be updated to reflect the new naming and layout.
The company did not disclose a specific timeline for full deployment. Earlier this year, Meta introduced similar unified dashboards for business accounts, a model it is now extending to personal users.
