The Portuguese artificial intelligence firm DOJO AI secured a €5.1 million Seed round at a €25 million valuation on Tuesday. The funding round was led by Armilar, a Lisbon-based venture capital firm, with additional backing from Heartfelt VC. The new capital will fund product development and support the company’s expansion into the U.S. market, where it aims to compete with established AI-driven marketing tools. DOJO AI develops an integrated platform that combines AI-driven analytics and automated campaign management for marketing teams. The system is designed to reduce manual work by handling tasks such as audience segmentation, content personalization, and performance tracking in real time. The company says its platform has already been adopted by mid-sized European brands, including retail and e-commerce businesses. The €5.1 million follows earlier seed funding of €2.3 million in 2023, bringing total investment to €7.4 million. Armilar partner Pedro Oliveira said the new round reflects confidence in DOJO AI’s ability to scale beyond Europe. “The U.S. market is highly competitive, but DOJO AI’s focus on practical automation gives it a clear entry point,” Oliveira stated. Heartfelt VC’s Sofia Marques highlighted the fund’s interest in AI tools that deliver measurable results. “We see strong demand from U.S. clients for platforms that integrate seamlessly with existing tech stacks,” she said. DOJO AI plans to open a New York office by the end of the year to support sales and customer onboarding. The company was founded in 2022 by a team of former data scientists from Farfetch and Glovo, two Lisbon-based startups known for scaling AI applications in retail and logistics.
