Google introduced a new feature for Chrome that uses its Gemini AI to automate workplace tasks for enterprise users. The tool, called auto browse, can handle research, data entry, and other repetitive jobs without manual input. This move follows Google’s push to integrate artificial intelligence deeper into daily work tools.
The feature works inside Chrome’s browser environment. Users can activate it to process documents, summarize reports, or fill forms by describing what they need in plain language. Google says the system learns from prior interactions to improve accuracy over time.
Enterprise customers will get access first. Google did not disclose pricing but noted it would be part of its Workspace suite. The company claims this reduces time spent on routine tasks by up to 30% in early tests.
Privacy controls are included. Admins can limit which data the AI can access and require user approval for sensitive actions. Google stated it stores no personal data from auto browse sessions beyond what’s needed for the task.
This update arrives as Microsoft and others also embed AI into office software. Google positions its version as more conversational, letting workers issue commands in natural language rather than structured queries.
