Databricks CEO Ali Ghodsi says faster development of data applications is critical for businesses. In a recent interview, he highlighted how integrating Databricks and Lovable can cut months of development time down to weeks.
The collaboration focuses on enabling business teams to build and deploy data-driven applications without deep technical expertise. Lovable provides a no-code platform that connects directly to Databricks’ data lakehouse architecture. This allows users to create applications using natural language prompts instead of writing code.
A pilot project with a Fortune 500 retail company showed the approach reduced development time by 70%. The team built a real-time inventory tracking system in three weeks instead of the usual three months. The project involved 12 business analysts and two data engineers.
Databricks’ vice president of product, Matei Zaharia, confirmed the integration is now available in public preview. He stated the goal is to remove bottlenecks between data teams and business units. The partnership aims to make advanced analytics accessible to non-technical users while maintaining enterprise-grade security.
Early adopters include a healthcare provider that deployed a patient data dashboard in two weeks. The system now processes 5,000 queries daily without additional IT support. Both companies plan to expand the integration with new features later this year.
