Amazon Web Services has introduced AWS Agent Registry in preview mode within AgentCore, a centralized platform designed to help enterprises locate, distribute, and reuse AI agents, tools, and agent skills. The announcement, made on the AWS Machine Learning blog, aims to address the growing complexity of managing multiple AI systems within large organizations.
Companies adopting AI solutions often struggle with version control, access management, and standardization across different departments. AWS Agent Registry provides a single repository where teams can store, update, and retrieve AI components without duplication or version conflicts. This is particularly valuable for businesses running multiple AI-driven workflows that need consistent performance and compliance.
The preview version includes features for discovery, sharing, and reuse of AI agents and their associated skills. AWS states that this tool will simplify integration for enterprises already using its ecosystem, including Amazon Bedrock and other AI services. The registry is part of a broader push by AWS to provide infrastructure tools that support scalable AI adoption.
Industry analysts note that such registries reduce operational overhead by eliminating redundant development efforts. Companies can now avoid rebuilding similar AI capabilities from scratch, saving time and resources. AWS has not yet announced a general availability date for the service.
