Apple will present new research at the International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP) 2026 in Barcelona, Spain, from May 4 to 8. The company confirmed its sponsorship of the event, which brings together researchers and industry professionals in signal processing and its applications.
The conference, held in person for the first time since 2020, will feature presentations from Apple’s Machine Learning Research team. Their work focuses on advances in audio signal enhancement and speech recognition technologies.
Apple’s participation includes a keynote speech by Richard F. Lyon, a principal scientist at Apple. Lyon will discuss the company’s latest findings in computational auditory scene analysis, a field that improves how devices interpret complex sound environments.
Other contributions include papers on noise suppression algorithms and real-time audio processing. These developments aim to improve the performance of Apple’s devices in noisy settings.
ICASSP 2026 is organized by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). Over 2,000 attendees from academia and industry are expected to participate in the five-day event.
