Amazon Web Services on Wednesday unveiled new features in Amazon Bedrock AgentCore aimed at accelerating the creation of AI agents. The updates remove technical barriers that often delay projects from early prototypes to full deployment.
Speaking at the AWS Summit in San Francisco, Rohit Prasad, senior vice president and head scientist at AWS, said the changes address one of the biggest pain points in AI development. Teams no longer need to spend weeks configuring infrastructure before writing their first line of code. "Developers should focus on solving problems, not managing servers," Prasad said. The new tools automate deployment, scaling and monitoring, letting engineers move from concept to working agent in minutes rather than days.
The update includes a visual workflow editor that lets teams design agent logic using drag-and-drop interfaces. It also introduces pre-built connectors for common enterprise systems like CRM platforms and databases. These reduce the need for custom integration work. AWS claims the changes cut initial setup time by up to 80% based on internal testing.
Security and compliance features have been expanded. New tools let administrators set granular access controls and audit trails from the start. This addresses concerns raised by enterprise customers about managing sensitive data in production environments. The updates also include improved logging and debugging tools to help teams troubleshoot issues faster.
The new features are available immediately in all regions where Amazon Bedrock operates. Existing customers can access them through the AWS Management Console without additional setup.
