Reflections on AGI: Separating Hype from Reality

Recently, I read an article from MIT Technology Review discussing what they call the most significant conspiracy theory of our time: Artificial General Intelligence (AGI).

The idea that machines will soon surpass human intelligence continues to persist without a clear definition. Deadlines for achieving AGI keep shifting, fueled largely by the belief of its proponents rather than concrete progress, as AGI itself does not yet exist.

From my experience working with AI integration and automation, here are some practical takeaways:
